What a fan token actually does
Voting rights, rewards, access — a plain-language look at what holders get, and what they do not.
A fan token is not a share. It does not pay a dividend, it does not carry a vote at the AGM, and it does not entitle anyone to a slice of a transfer fee.
What it does carry
- Club polls. Usually cosmetic — a goal song, a captain’s armband design, the message on the coach.
- Rewards and access. Ballots for matchday experiences, signed kit, meet-ups.
- A membership tier. Holding more usually means more voting weight.
What it does not carry
Ownership, governance, or any claim on the club. Clubs are explicit about this in their own terms, and it is the single most misread part of the product.
Why it matters anyway
The polls are small, but the community around them is not. That community is what this site is interested in.
